Dr. Shafik Sachedina is an influential face in the philanthropic world of the United Kingdom as he initiated a number of charity ventures that are aimed to address the pains of the society. A dental surgeon by profession, he predominantly focuses on the healthcare environment, along with educational and community initiatives.

Sachedina is the Joint Chairman of the U.K-based senior living network, Sussex Healthcare. His influential leadership has helped Sussex Healthcare to ensure the best senior living experience for the older people. The old-age home network started in 1985 utilized the expertise and vision of Sachedina and grew into 20 homes that are serving over 500 senior people.

His deep expertise in the healthcare sector helped the network to frame special programs for conditions such as Alzheimer’s or dementia, people with neurological issues, physical difficulties, learning problems, and more. He was also the promoter of active and engaged lifestyle at Sussex Healthcare homes. Due to that reason, the network has devised many social and recreational programs to promote the well-being, both physically and mentally, of the inhabitants. Additionally, Sachedina ensured that the residents of the network are getting individualized care as well as options to engage themselves in the areas they are interested.

The activities include dancing, taking part in quiz programs, cooking, crafting, learning something new per the current developments, and more. Shafik Sachedina is particular that each of them gets professional nursing round the clock as well as specialized therapies. Dr. Sachedina is coordinating all the missions and operations of Sussex Healthcare with his vision, leadership skill, and expertise in the healthcare sector. Interestingly, he also has expertise in leading philanthropic initiatives such as managing the institutions of Ismaili community. Especially his contributions towards Jamati and Aga Khan Institutions are voluntary in nature and reflects his thoughts and deep passion towards philanthropy and service.

Dr. Shafik Sachedina was coordinating the initiatives and programs of Ismaili institutions in 16 key areas. He was also leading the development programs of the network that were focusing the development of the Central Asian Ismaili communities. Sachedina was born in Tanzania in 1950 and got his dental surgery graduation in 1975 from the University of London. In the initial years, he was concentrating on the practice, and during those years, he was motivated by the entrepreneurial thoughts in the healthcare sector. Sachedina is also associated with many institutions and charity groups as part of his voluntary service mission. He served two times as the Ismail Council President for the United Kingdom region.
