NuoDB Continues Impressive Growth

NuoDB is a database company that was founded in Cambridge, Massachusetts back in 2008. MuoDB has already been recognized on the Gardner Magic Quadrant and its technologies are used by many prolific companies such as Dassault Systemes, Kodiak, Alfa Systems, and UAE Exchange to name a few of its biggest customers. The co-founders of this company are Barry S. Morris, who is now the CEO of the company, and also Jim Starkey. The company has a patented “elastic scalable database” on March 8th. 2011 and it was approved as of July 7th, 2012. Jim Starkey received patent 8,224,860 for this product.

NuoDB provides an elastic SQL database for cloud applications that help distribute architecture that works in the cloud-based system of storing information and data. NuoDB has ballooned to $12 million in total venture capital based on its newly-patented technology. The NuoDB has since received many accolades for their work including Gartner listing the company as one of their Magic Quadrant players in 2013. In February 2014 the company announced an extension to its Series B funding round that was led by Dassault Systemes that added another $14.2 million to the company’s funding.
